A Deconsolution for an emerging problem, Biofilms. The instant surfaces are exposed to water, Glycocalyx – better known as Biofilms - form.
Glycocalyx are created from extracellular polymeric substances excreted by bacteria. These sticky polymers hold the biofilm together and cement it to surfaces. The glycocalyx trap nutrients and protect the underlying bacteria from biocides and disinfectants, including bleach. These bacteria are the primary produces of foul odors and slime.
These inert coatings allow for the accumulation of complex, metabolically cooperative bacterial communities that often produce highly pungent odors. Often associated with surface slim, biofilms often permeate themselves at all levels throughout locker rooms, floors, pipes, drains, pools or tank systems.
Product Description . Highly efficacious and environmentally safe, MDF BioFilm Pro is a three part system that can be used to remove and control biofilm. Testing conducted by Sandia National Laboratories indicates that the formulation is “extremely effective” for the complete decontamination of biofilms on all test surfaces.
Incorporates unique wetting agents for thorough penetration of polymeric substances (microbial metabolites).
