Modec's Apparatus Division produces decontamination units mounted on liftable skids for mass casualty response and are designed specifically for medical facilities. Modec systems feature its proprietary exterior operations layout, CBRN decon formulations and automated injection capability. Modec's Skid mounted units offer the following features and benefits unique to only Modec:

• Foam injected walls provided extremely strong, but lightweight construction.  Using all-aluminum Z-bar construction with anodized aluminum posts, they are 75% less weight than steel post construction.  The useful life of these units is 20+ years.

• Seamless foam injected walls are impervious to moisture.  Steel post construction uses FRP panels on plywood - moisture causes permanent damage and rust.

• Modec units are so lightweight that light/medium duty fork-lifts can be used to move and handle the units.  Other skid mounted units require specialty roll-off vehicles that can lift heavy containers.  This is critical in times of emergency when availability can be suspect.

• Other skid mounted units rely on gravity drainage systems.  With very little height advantage, these systems are prone to backflowing.  Modec’s integral grey water tank and automatic draining systems prevents backflow into the unit (a dangerous situation) and assures continuous and proper drainage.

• Modec units feature sloped shower pans that insure proper draining of each shower area.  Drain troughs are tripping hazards and do not fully guarantee avoidance of cross-contamination.

• Modec provides a lighted exterior showering and processing area with containment berm.  It is a modesty protected (via customized, rapidly deployable awning) area that includes a permanently affixed stainless steel roller system that safely processes ambulatory victims.  Our units can then process male, female, and ambulatory patients simultaneously.

• Modec units include a 500 gallon grey water bladder at no extra cost.

• Modec’s shower heads are rated at 5 gpm and include automatically dosed decon solution at each operational area.

• Modec’s units are 102” wide providing a full extra foot of width to the functional operations areas. Modec’s systems are easy to use, even for the untrained.

Our customers include the City of New York, Seattle, Washington, DC, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, Aurora, IL, Denver, Houston, Bakersfield, CA, and Statewide Programs for the States of Utah, Massachusetts, Delaware and Illinois. We have also provided systems for hospitals such as UCLA Medical Center, KU Medical Center, Rush Copley Medical Center and Lincoln Health Center, Bronx, NY. Systems are in place at airports such as LAX, SFO and Dallas/Ft. Worth. Modec's systems are deployed at every chemical weapons depot in the country and by National Guard CST Teams.
