In response to a national initiative sponsored by the US Departments of Energy and Homeland Security, Sandia National Laboratories developed the Sandia Decontamination Formulation for the mitigation and decontamination of chemical and biological agents.

Pursuant to its License with Sandia Corp. (00-C00872), Modec has worldwide rights to market and distribute MDF-200 to military agencies and authorized end-users. Modec also has a GSA contract and multiple approved NSN configurations available. Modec sells MDF-200 directly to authorized military, federal and state agencies

Sandia's Formulation is protected by US Patent No. 6,566,574 B1 and 6,723,890 and pending patents US 20030158459 A1 and US 20030060517 A1 as well as international patent protection. Modec's Decon Formulation is not restricted under ITAR regulations.
